Frances O. Smith Scholarship

The Frances O. Smith Scholarship, established by Inspired Now Networks, Inc., embodies a profound commitment to education, leadership, and community service. Named in honor of Frances O. Smith, a beacon of compassion and dedication, this scholarship seeks to empower students and recognize the transformative impact of service and creativity.

Frances O. Smith’s legacy is one of tireless advocacy for the marginalized and underprivileged. As a recipient of the Human Rights Award from the NAACP, she dedicated herself to uplifting the economically disadvantaged, supporting the physically disabled, and aiding those struggling with addiction. Her journey through Rockland Community College laid the foundation for a career in education that spanned over two decades, leaving an indelible mark on the Nyack school system and beyond.

Central to Frances’s ethos was her belief in fostering mutual respect and nurturing creativity. Through teaching arts and crafts, she encouraged students to explore their imaginations beyond conventional boundaries, leaving an enduring legacy of artistic expression and empowerment.

The Frances O. Smith Scholarship stands as a tribute to her life, impact, and unwavering commitment to making a difference. By supporting students in their pursuit of education and leadership, this scholarship honors Frances’s remarkable legacy while ensuring that her spirit of service and creativity continues to inspire future generations.

Who does the Scholarship help.

The scholarship recognizes the vital role of young people in under-served communities. By offering opportunities for growth and service, it empowers high school students in Wake County, North Carolina, and Rockland County, New York, to become catalysts for positive change within their communities.

From ages 10 to 18, students are welcomed into a supportive environment where their aspirations are nurtured, their talents celebrated, and their dreams encouraged. Through access to educational programs and resources, the Frances O. Smith Scholarship Fund opens doors to a brighter future, laying the groundwork for success and fulfillment.

By investing in the potential of these young individuals, the scholarship not only transforms lives but also strengthens communities, paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous society.
